Two Sigma Fundamental L/S Interview Process
Hi, anyone here went through interview for this group? Specifically they seem to have a live case study/stock pitch interview round where the candidate is expected to go over a fresh name with the interviewer over a 90 minutes period live on camera? I have never been through something like this so hoping to hear any feedback/color form people that went through this. Thx
What is this team like? I didn't even know Two Sigma did fundamental equities
They have been trying to hire for a while. The team is a bunch of older (late 20/early 30s) people who didn’t get promoted at tiger cubs or tried to do their own <$200mm fund and couldn’t get traction. You should figure out if this is actually a serious attempt or just another R&D temporary project for Two Sigma.
Yes, I am aware of the composition of the team. Overall I think it’s similar to most non-pod platforms. It does seem to me like they haven’t yet figured out the exact strategy yet (gross and net, # of names, turnover, risk limits). When you say another R&D attempt within two sigma- have there been past examples where they shut down fundamental teams after a short while? Thanks
Interested in hearing more about this as well as other quant shops that hire fundamental analysts - I assume similar process to traditional L/S?
I know IMC have tried launching a macro desk in Amsterdam.
A bunch of the props & HFT shops have so much cash on hand with such capacatiy constrained strats that they're just throwing money at random shit.
