Best France/Europe Research firm

Hey guys,
I'd love to start my career in Paris or Frankfurt (personal reasons) and am wondering if there is any possibility to work in Research there (Equity/Credit ideally). So I was wondering if any of you knew of well ranked continental european research houses. I already know for most BBs, but not sure for the others.
For example, how would you rank Oddo BHF (has a lot of Natixis ER now), Kepler Chevreux, etc.

If research is not really an option in continental Europe, what job would you advise for someone who really enjoyed ER?

Looking forward to your replies!

French student here, so only second hand information : Kepler is supposed to be the strongest in ER, but Oddo has also nice asset management teams where people from ER transfer sometimes

Thanks for your reply! Do you know by any chance if local research shops try to compete globally or do they just focus on local firms? Furthermore, do you have some names for good French asset managers by any chance?

What do you mean by "try to compete globally" ?

I would guess they focus more on european clients, or global firms with operations in Europe, though some might have offices outside Europe (dunno more).

As for their coverage it is usually global with a stronger focus or expertise on Europe.

As for asset managers, i don't work in the industry, but I've heard of Oddo, Amundi, Axa has teams, all the banks, etc. but couldn't rank them

I meant do they try to compete in research with the BBs in London or do they focus rather on specific French firms with little competition? I'm just worried that all French research houses get destroyed with MiFID 2.

I would guess they focus more on european clients or global firms operating in europe from London, but not sure. As for coverage ii's global, with stronger expertise on Europe maybe.

Asset managers : Oddo, Amundi, Axa, all the banks, etc.

A lot more in France, usually boutique type asset managers but still with above a billion AUM.

I think Tikehau has an equity fund.
