Areas of ER that are more data intensive?

Hi, currently in sell side equity research covering renewables and cleantech and wondering whether there are any areas within ER that are more data intensive? I miss doing data analytics in Python/R/SQL from my career before finance, hence my question. I don't have the educational background for proper quant jobs but maybe covering TMT or Fintech, for example, could involve more data? How about other related jobs in asset management or hedge funds? Thanks for any input

Edit: on the quant point, what I meant is that I don’t have a background in computer science so any heavy lifting with machine learning etc. is at least currently beyond my reach. But apart from that I’m pretty good with data wrangling, processing, visualizations, and running all kinds of analyses on large-ish datasets

Thanks, and good to hear, energy and mining would not seem to be too big of a jump from renewables so I’ll look more into that. And I was curious if someone would suggest strategists because I was wondering whether that work was more data driven given its more macro.
