CorpDev Compensation 2023
Curious what CorpDev compensation is like from Asso -> Head at your group as of current.
Would be nice to know firm size, deal activity and compensation at levels where you have knowledge.

Bump
following
I joined a F500 healthcare company in 2021 after 3 years in IB
Joined as Manager - $125K base + 10% bonus
Promoted to Associate Director after 1.5 years
new comp: $175K base + 15% bonus
fully remote, typically 40hr/week
How did you find the opportunity?
LinkedIn. I still see similar roles get posted today, though it seems every company has a different opinion on the experience level they want from managers. In my CD group it’s the lowest level.
No LTIP?
If you get a long term incentive plan, make sure to have it sent to you in writing, otherwise, it ain’t real
No LTIP at my level. Is that common for AD roles?
How do you like it so far?
How are you working 40 hours a week on a live deal? What if you have two live deals simultaneously?
Associate
Public co, 1-2b
Fully remote
MCOL city
Base: 110k
Cash Bonus Target: 15%
LTIP Target: 15%
I’m not an associate, but I’m an analyst in a Corp Dev. function at a F500 Industrials Company.
Yrs: 1 year
Base: $68k
Bonus: ~Max $1.2K I think
MCOL Area
Hours: avg ~50-60 per week
Not sure how much the associates, senior analysts, managers, and directors get paid here. Hopefully I find out for the associate level soon haha.
How do you feel about the comp for your cost of living situation and how much would you like to get for associate?
I mean, I want more money lol. Im not sure if this is market rate or not. Things are getting more expensive here too so I could definitely use a bump. I just want to know if there’s a premium to my salary compared to the Corp. finance roles because of higher hours (esp. during live deals) at this company. I’m guessing no.
The next promotion would be Senior Analyst actually. Associates are those who enter the team with existing work experience. Analysts are usually straight from college. I don’t think I’ll be at Senior Analyst yet, but I might try to make a case for myself to be bumped to the associate pay grade. I doubt it though.
FAANG Corp Dev
2022 - Senior Analyst Came in from being an A2A Associate (3/4 years experience)
Base: ~$130K
Target Comp: ~$170K
2023 - Promoted to Manager: Based on our external hires this ranges anywhere from senior Associate to junior Director in banking (it's a wide band)
Base: ~$160K
Target Comp: ~$210K
is the difference between base and target comp the cash bonus or stock options?

Director in IB to Manager in Corp Dev seems like a pretty significant title and pay downgrade
Not Corp dev but in strat fin as a manager. Have couple years of top IB experience as well as other roles. ~$195k cash comp. Full remote. Good control over hours but mostly 50-60 hour weeks when the going gets rough. But some of 30-40 hour weeks too.
What's the difference between a strat fin role and corp dev? How many total YoeE? 200k and full remote sounds great.
Strat fin can encompass corp dev, but in more cases I'd describe it doing the more complex modeling work on things that matter (big opportunities, real forecasts, capital allocation) that the FP&A team doesn't have the capability to.
Recently accepted a corp dev / strategy associate position with 3 YOE across IB and other financial services.
$125k base/ ~$150k all-in
Fully remote but based in NYC
Any advice on recruiting to make the move? What was your other experience prior?
How did u prep for the interviews? What kind of questions or case studies should one expect in these processes?
Ignore title - 3 YOE in IB as an A2A before jumping to Corp Dev as a Manager in a HCOL market: $160k base, 15% target bonus
Corp dev manager. $140k base, 20% target bonus, $5k deal close fee, plus equity. TC is around $250k give or take depending on how you want to value the equity.
