Hiring a Wealth Manager vs. Financial Advisor?

As a passive investor invested solely in index funds what will a financial advisor or wealth manager provide me?
Access to alternative investments, pipeline for private equity/debt opportunities?
Having never interacted with either a FA or WM it's unclear to me what services they would provide. I do not need an accountability partner to ensure I stick to a financial plan which seems to be a significant component of hiring outside financial counsel like a FA or WM.
Thanks in advance!
