Using client to network into PE?

Through working a live deal, we came across a PE firm as a counterparty (and got close to getting the deal done) that I am very interested in recruiting for. The President of our client company has many close relationships with members of this specific fund, and I have both spoken to him many times via zoom and we met in person and had lunch together following a meeting. Is there any way I could tap into this relationship as potential networking/recruiting leverage? For reference, this is still an active client of ours. I am the lone analyst on the deal so I believe he has a favorable view of me. Please let me know if I’m being crazy to try to leverage a client like this or if there is a way to navigate this smoothly
