Renewable energy in Houston?

Is Houston a good place to do ib if you're interested in renewables/cleantech long term? I know nyc is better for power and utilities, but it seems like many of the Houston banks are beginning to touch cleantech deals. Are there any good cleantech/infra pe shops in Houston? If not, is it possible to exit from Houston to such funds in nyc or other cities?

Most banks that do energy will also do renewable energy deals. But you would be mostly working on Oil and Gas deals. Like 90% oil and Gas and 10% renewables. From what I have seen there is no banks that have renewable divisions in Houston except an MD that focuses on that and junior staff in a segment like downstream, midstream, E&P, and services getting staffed on those deals.

Ya I figured that, my question is more about exit opps. If you're starting out working on 90% O&G is it possible to exit into renewables (corp dev or infra pe or something like that)? Are there any decent exit opps in Houston related to renewables or are they all in nyc?
